A Statement from the Winema Electric Family

On December 24, 2021, one of our employees and family members, Jared Schmeck, became the subject of controversy after a phone call with President Joe Biden went viral.

Amidst immense backlash, hatred, doxing, threats, and other attacks, we want to make our position in this matter abundantly clear:

We stand with each and every person’s right to free speech. 

We stand with Jared Schmeck.

We are asking the people of this great nation – small business owners, freedom-loving Americans, and our brothers and sisters in Christ to speak out against the agitators, against the vile techniques used to destroy the opposing view. While we respect the right of these people to express their own opinions, they do not represent who we are as a nation and their bullying behaviors will not intimidate or frighten us into submission.

We will not be silenced. Our forefathers fought for our independence and the freedom against oppression and tyranny, without free speech such freedom will cease to exist. We must defend it.

We are praying for those that are persecuting us - that they will be reconciled with God.
